About The Founder
Meet Rita Farruggia
Founder of Future You Letters
Founder. Podcast Host. Marketer. Lifelong Student of Personal Growth.

I've spent most of my life thinking about one question:
Who are we capable of becoming?
I'm Rita Farruggia, founder of Future You Letters.
I'm a marketer, entrepreneur, podcast host, writer, and—most importantly—someone who has been fascinated by personal growth for as long as I can remember.
Long before I ever created a business around personal development, I was the girl reading books about how to improve my mindset, understand myself better, overcome limiting beliefs and create a better life.
I've always been curious about the relationship between who we are today and who we could become tomorrow.
That curiosity eventually became a career.
And eventually, it became Future You Letters.
Personal Growth Has Always Been Part of My Story
I've been interested in personal growth since I was in high school.
While other people might have been reading novels or magazines, I was drawn to books about psychology, mindset, success, relationships, spirituality, habits and becoming a better version of yourself.
I wasn't interested in personal growth because I believed we were supposed to become perfect.
Quite the opposite.
I became fascinated by the idea that we are always capable of changing.
Our thoughts can change.
Our habits can change.
Our confidence can change.
Our relationships with ourselves can change.
And the way we see our future can change.
That belief has followed me throughout my life.
It influenced the career I built, the businesses I've created, the conversations I've had with thousands of people—and eventually the podcast I created.
From Marketing to Personal Development
My professional background is in marketing and digital marketing, where I've spent years learning how people think, what motivates them, how stories influence us and how brands create meaningful connections with their audiences.
I've worked across marketing, sales, digital strategy, social media and entrepreneurship.
But there was always another side of my life that I cared just as deeply about:
personal growth.
I wanted to create things that could actually make people's lives feel a little better.
That desire eventually led me to create Happy Being Well.
The Happy Being Well Podcast
In 2021, I launched the Happy Being Well Podcast, a show centered around self-love, self-care, wellness, mindset and personal development.
The idea was simple:
Bring interesting people into the conversation and learn from them.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to speak with experts, authors, entrepreneurs and thought leaders about the things that actually shape our lives—our beliefs, relationships, habits, health, mindset and the way we see ourselves.
The podcast has featured guests including Gary John Bishop, Tori Dunlap and Liz Tenuto, known online as The Workout Witch, among many other fascinating guests.
Happy Being Well was also nominated in the Health category for The People's Choice Podcast Awards, making the final top-10 list of nominees. (Happy Being Well)
I've also had the opportunity to write about self-care, personal development and mindset as an Executive Contributor for Brainz Magazine. (Brainz Magazine)
But perhaps the most rewarding part of creating Happy Being Well has been the conversations.
Because every time I talk to someone who has transformed their life, overcome something difficult, changed their beliefs or decided to become a different version of themselves, I'm reminded of something:
We are not finished becoming.
And Then I Became a Mom
There is another part of my story that has changed the way I see life:
I'm a mother to my two-year-old son.

He is the greatest joy of my life.
Becoming a mother has made the idea of the future feel much more personal to me.
When you have a child, you think about the person they're becoming.
You wonder what they'll dream about.
What they'll believe about themselves.
What kind of person they'll grow into.
And you realize how incredibly important the messages we give ourselves—and the messages we receive—can be.
Motherhood has also reminded me that life doesn't happen in some distant future when everything is finally figured out.
Life is happening now.
And we're becoming someone through every ordinary day.
How Future You Letters Was Born
The idea for Future You Letters came from my own personal experience with writing to my future self.

I had written a letter from the perspective of my future self—a version of me who had already lived through the uncertainty, made decisions, overcome obstacles and become the person I wanted to be.
And something about the exercise stayed with me.
There was something powerful about stepping outside of the noise of the present moment and imagining that I could hear from the version of myself who already knew how the story unfolded.
It made me ask different questions.
It helped me think differently about what I was capable of.
And it created an emotional connection to a future that could otherwise feel abstract.
Eventually I wondered:
What if you didn't have to write the letter yourself?
What if your future self could write back?
That question became Future You Letters.
Why I Created Future You Letters
Most personal-development practices ask you to look inward.
Journal.
Reflect.
Set goals.
Write affirmations.
Create a vision board.
Imagine your future.
Those things can be incredibly valuable.
But I wanted to create something different.
Something you could actually hold in your hands.
Something that would arrive in your mailbox.
Something beautiful enough to keep.
Something you could open on a difficult day and read again.
And most importantly, something that would help you create a relationship with the person you're becoming.
Most people write to their future self.
Future You Letters lets your future self write back.
That's the heart of the idea.
It's More Than a Letter
When you receive a Future You Letter, you're not simply receiving a piece of paper.
You're receiving a moment to pause.
To reflect.
To reconnect with yourself.
To remember what you're working toward.
To see your life from a different perspective.
And to hear a message that you might desperately need to hear right now.
Sometimes that message is:
Keep going.
Sometimes:
Trust yourself.
Sometimes:
You are loved.
Sometimes:
You are enough.
And sometimes you simply need to be reminded:
Your future is still bright.
That's why I created both Personalized Future You Letters and Themed Future You Letters.
Personalized letters are created specifically around your story, goals, values, challenges and the future you're working toward.
Themed letters allow you to choose a message that speaks to the moment you're in—or give that message to someone you love.
I Believe We Are Always Becoming
I don't believe personal growth means constantly trying to "fix" yourself.
I believe it means getting to know yourself.
Becoming more conscious of your thoughts.
Questioning the beliefs that hold you back.
Learning from your experiences.
Giving yourself permission to change.
And becoming increasingly intentional about the person you want to be.
You don't have to have your entire life figured out.
You don't have to know exactly how everything will happen.
You simply need to be willing to take the next step.
And sometimes, a reminder from your future self is exactly what you need to take it.
Why the Letter Comes in Your Mailbox
We live in a world of screens.
Emails.
Notifications.
Text messages.
Social media.
AI-generated content.
Everything is fast.
Everything is disposable.
I wanted Future You Letters to feel different.
There is something special about opening your mailbox and finding an envelope that was created for you.
Holding the paper.
Opening the envelope.
Breaking the seal.
Reading words that were written with you in mind.
And then putting the letter somewhere you can return to.
It's a small experience in a very digital world.
And I think we need more of those.
The Future I'm Building
Future You Letters is the business I'm most excited about building.
I've created businesses before.
I've worked in marketing.
I've built communities.
I've hosted a podcast.
I've written about personal development.
I've spent years learning about what helps people change their thinking and move toward a life they actually want.
Future You Letters brings all of those parts of my life together.
My marketing background helps me understand how to build a meaningful brand.
My podcast has taught me how to listen to people's stories.
My personal-development journey has shaped what I believe.
Motherhood has deepened my understanding of how precious our time and our future really are.
And Future You Letters gives me a way to put all of that into something tangible.
Something I hope makes people feel seen, encouraged and connected to who they're becoming.
A Letter From Me to You
If you're reading this, you're probably someone who believes there's more possible for your life.
Maybe you're starting over.
Maybe you're working toward a dream.
Maybe you're going through a difficult chapter.
Maybe you simply know that you aren't the person you were five years ago—and you aren't going to be the same person five years from now.
Wherever you are, I want you to remember this:
You don't have to become someone else.
You get to become more fully yourself.
The person you dream about becoming isn't some completely different person waiting somewhere in the future.
She's being created through the choices you're making today.
And that's what I hope every Future You Letter reminds you of.
Your future isn't something that simply happens to you.
You're creating it.
One thought.
One choice.
One action.
One day at a time.
With love,
